About Kerrie Wetherspoon
Kerrie Wetherspoon is a E.W. Scripps Company Journalism Career Program participant at WTKR/WGNT in Norfolk, VA. Her role there is the weekday/weekend evening newscast producer. She is a broadcast journalism alumna of Florida A&M University's School of Journalism and Graphic Communications who is continuously working on her skills as a journalist and media professional.
Kerrie has also worked for Gray Television at WCTV Eyewitness News in Tallahassee, Fl as newscast producer. She has also served as a staff writer intern for Capital Outlook newspaper. She has extended her work as a newscast producer for News 20 at 5 during her academic career. Within her academic career at FAMU, she has held a position as chairwoman for the FAMU Chapter of SISTUHS, Incorporated.
Moreover, she has contributed to the FAMUAN newspaper which has led her to acquire enhanced writing and editing skills. Wetherspoon is also a member of National Association of Black Journalists. Her passion for writing, producing, and storytelling is deeply displayed through her work while she aims to become an executive producer.
